Kiedy jakieś dwadzieścia lat temu, podczas koncertu Hate Plow w Warszawie, rozmawiałem z Kyle Symons'em na temat trzeciej płyty rzeczonego zespołu, zapewniał mnie, że materiał już się robi. Czekałem niecierpliwie, lata mijały, aż w końcu przestałem mieć jakiekolwiek nadzieje. Aż tu nagle, po dwudziestu dwóch latach ów gentleman pojawia się niczym Fenix z popiołów pod nowym szyldem. Poza nim w składzie widzimy samych doświadczonych muzyków, można powiedzieć, że to taki mały zespół gwiazd, ludzi mających za sobą historie w Megadeth, Venom Inc., Gruesome czy Malevolent Creation. No dobra, ale same nazwiska nie grają, można przecież powiedzieć. Tym bardziej, że muzyka wspomnianych zespołów nie zawsze leży na półce obok twórczości Hate Plow. Dlatego też muszę przyznać, że jestem w totalnym szoku, jak wiernie "Peace Through Tyranny" kontynuuje i rozwija styl znany z "The Only Law Is Survival". Zacznijmy od wokalu. Wyobraźcie sobie, że chłop wraca po dwóch dekadach, bo z tego co wiem nigdzie się w międzyczasie nie udzielał, i ryczy jakby nigdy nie przestał. Jego rasowy, głęboki a zarazem czytelny growl mógłby stanowić encyklopedyczny wzorzec gatunku death/grind. Kyle wypluwa płuca do krwi, a najniższe tonacje dochodzą chyba z samej okrężnicy. Co się tyczy pracy gitar, to mamy tu intensywne a zarazem inteligentne riffowanie, nie tylko typowo grindowe, ale też nadziane klasycznie deathmetalowymi, chwilami niemal thrashowymi akordami, co tworzy wspólnie mieszankę siły i wściekłości. Nie ma tu elementów zbędnych, w każdej kompozycji coś się dzieje a riffy płynnie przechodzą z jednego w drugi, często zmieniając przy okazji tempo. Kill Division nie zapominają o tym, że aby utwór zapadał w pamięć poza kipiącą z niego energią musi też mieć odpowiedni groove. Stąd też muzyka na "Peace Through Tyranny" pełna jest naprawdę chwytliwych patentów. Podobnie jest w przypadku genialnie, według mnie, odegranych beczek. Przez większą część materiału doświadczamy niemiłosiernego blastowania, lecz nie brak tu także punkowych rytmów i kilku zwolnień. Wsłuchajcie się jeszcze w pracę stóp, a usłyszycie szkołę Sandovala (niestety, teraz już katola), czysta poezja. Naprawdę, wszystko chodzi tu jak w szwajcarskim zegarku, a jak brzmi! Nie wyobrażam sobie, by operator dźwięku mógłby lepiej wykonać swoją pracę. Wszystko jest czytelne a jednocześnie w chuj ciężkie, masywne i miażdżące. Debiut Kill Division (swoją drogą, cóż za adekwatna do zawartości nazwa) to pół godziny barbarzyństwa na najwyższym poziomie. Owszem, można doszukiwać się tu podobieństw do Napalm Death z Pintado czy wczesnego Terrorizer (mamy zresztą nawet cover "Barely Alive" na deser), jednak Kyle i spółka tak inteligentnie przerabiają wszystkona swój własny styl, że wypada jedynie zdjąć czapki z głów. Absolutnie miażdżący album, można powiedzieć ze młodszy brat "World Downfall" z roku dwudziestego drugiego. Lepszej płyty w tym gatunku w tym roku nie będzie. Pozamiatane.

When like twenty years ago, during a Hate Plow concert in Warsaw, I was talking to Kyle Symons about the band's third album, he assured me that the material was already being made. I waited impatiently, the years passed, and finally I lost all hope. And then suddenly, twenty-two years later, this gentleman appears like Fenix from the ashes under a new name. Apart from him, the line-up includes only experienced musicians, you can say that it is a small all-star-band, people with stories in Megadeth, Venom Inc., Gruesome or Malevolent Creation. Okay, but the names themselves do not play, you can say. The more that the music of these bands is not always on the shelf next to Hate Plow's work. Therefore, I must admit that I am totally shocked at how faithfully "Peace Through Tyranny" continues and develops the style known from "The Only Law Is Survival". Let's start with the vocals. Imagine that the guy returns after two decades, because, as far as I know, he hasn't participated in any bands in the meantime, and he roars as if he never stopped. His purebred, deep and at the same time readable growl could be an encyclopedic pattern for the death / grind genre. Kyle spits his lungs till they bleed, and the lowest pitches seem to come from the colon itself. As for the work of the guitars, we have here an intense and intelligent riffing, not only typically grindish, but also filled with classically death metal, almost thrash chords, which together creates a mixture of strength and fury. There are no superfluous elements here, something is happening in each composition and the riffs smoothly change from one to another, often also changing the pace. Kill Division do not forget that in order for a song to be remembered, apart from the energy boiling from it, it must also have the appropriate groove. Hence the music on "Peace Through Tyranny" is full of really catchy patents. It is similar with the brilliantly, in my opinion, played drums. We experience unmerciful blasting for most of the time, but there are also some punk rhythms and a few slowdowns. Listen to the work of the drum kicks and you will hear the Sandoval (unfortunately already a Catholic now) school, pure poetry. Really, everything works like a Swiss clock here, and how it sounds! I can't imagine the sound operator could do his job better. Everything is clear and at the same time fucking heavy, massive and crushing. The debut of Kill Division (by the way, what a name adequate to the content) is half an hour of barbarism at the highest level. Yes, you can find some similarities to Napalm Death with Pintado era or early Terrorizer (we even have a cover of "Barely Alive" for dessert), but Kyle&co. so intelligently melt everything into their own style that there's noother way but to take the hats off. An absolutely crushing album, you may say, the younger brother of "World Downfall" from year twenty-two. There will be no better album in this genre this year. It's done!
