Hellcrash
“Inferno
Crematörio”
Dying Victims
Prod. 2025
The Italians of
Hellcrash don't fuck around. Starting with their debut “Krvcifix Invertör”
released in two thousand twenty-one, they have been treating us to their
full-length releases regularly every two years. “Inferno Crematörio” is album
number three (if someone can’t count quickly), bringing thirty-seven minutes of
music the gentlemen have already managed to get us used to. In order not to
elaborate too much, because there is nothing to elaborate on, we can say that
Hellcrash is one of the contemporary heirs of the best speed / thrash metal
traditions. Here, in fact, every track is a fast, classic to the bone shot in
the face in the old style. You can hear clear inspirations from Slayer, Venom
or at times even Motorhead in these compositions, and the way the Italians
refresh the metal music of the 1980s is simply delectable. Listening to such
riffs as in, for example, “Rapid Possession” or “Black Fire Demon” genuinely
brings a tear to the eye. Anyway, the above examples are pretty random, because
I could write literally any title here, as there is no shortage of classic
chords on this release. The vocal, which at times strongly resembles Cronos,
especially when he sings his “hell” in “Outbreaker”, adds an additional flavor
to these recordings. The rhythm section doesn't surprise with anything, as the
drums tap out rhythms in a straightforward manner, like in the 1980s.
Occasionally a very cool bass line comes to the front, but these are details to
which it is pointless to devote time and write long stories. Because “Inferno
Crematörio” should be received in its entirety. It is not difficult to do so.
This music has no second bottom, isn’t overly complicated, created in
accordance with old-school traditions. That is, it's supposed to kick ass, give
a lot of joy, and bring older geeks at least a moment of beautiful memories of
growing up. Hellcrash for the third time recorded an album that is an example
of how speed metal traditions should be cultivated. For fans of the genre, this
album is a must-have.
